Required Materials


Although programs may request additional documents, GME requires the following documents of all applicants prior to appointment (please note that references and supporting documents will not be returned and become the property of Cleveland Clinic):

PGY1 Applicants (4th year medical students)

personal statement
CV
dean's letter
transcripts
at least two letters of recommendation from physicians who have supervised the applicant in a clinical setting
class standing, if available
USMLE score reports
medical school diploma (required prior to orientation)

PGY2 (and above) Applicants:

personal statement
CV
dean's letter
transcripts
at least two letters of recommendation from physicians who have supervised the applicant in a clinical setting
USMLE score reports
certificate(s) of previous training
medical school diploma

Fellowship Applicants

personal statement
CV
letter from Residency Program Director in lieu of dean’s letter

In addition to the above documents, all International Medical Graduates must submit a certified copy of their current ECFMG certificate and qualifying exam results.
